Community Guidelines
Effective Date: August 7, 2026
The CaloNote community is a space where people who have added each other as friends share meal and daily records and stay healthy together. These Guidelines set out the detailed standards referred to in Section 7 of the Terms of Use and form part of those Terms.
- •There is no public feed. We do not provide any space where content is exposed to the general public.
- •Friendships require mutual acceptance. One person sends a request and the other accepts before either can see the other's records.
- •Sharing of new records is on by default and can be turned off under Profile > Auto-share. You can also unshare individual records.
- •If you do not want to be found by nickname search, turn off Profile > Allow nickname search.
- •Removing a friend ends the relationship on both sides, and records shared until then are no longer visible.
Even though your content is visible only to friends, the following is not allowed. We act on it when we find it or when it is reported.
- •Sexual content — pornography and sexually explicit images or text. Any sexual content involving minors is removed on sight and reported to the authorities.
- •Hate and discrimination — demeaning or mocking people on the basis of gender, origin, race, religion, disability, sexual orientation and the like
- •Harassment — abuse, threats, stalking, defamation, or repeated unwanted contact directed at a person
- •Impersonation — posing as another person or organisation, or misrepresenting your identity
- •Other people's personal information — posting someone's face, contact details, address or identifying information without consent
- •Spam and advertising — commercial promotion, repeated identical posts, or driving people to external sites or services
- •Unlawful content — illegal drugs, illegal transactions, gambling, and anything else that breaks the law
- •Copyright infringement — posting someone else's photos, writing or video without permission
Because CaloNote is an app for tracking food, we are especially strict about content that could harm someone's health.
- •Do not encourage self-harm or suicide, or describe methods.
- •Do not promote extreme fasting, prolonged starvation, purging or diuretic use, or anything else that can lead to an eating disorder, without medical basis.
- •Do not judge or demean another user's body or weight.
- •Do not make definitive claims about medicines or supplements, or give advice that substitutes for a prescription.
| Feature | How it works |
|---|---|
| Report | Open the more menu (⋯) on a record, post, comment or user > Report. Choose a reason and our team reviews it. |
| Block | Open the profile or the more menu (⋯) > Block. Their records and comments are hidden from you immediately and they cannot send you a friend request. You can unblock at any time. |
- •Received — reports go straight to our moderation tool.
- •Reviewed — our team checks the content and its context, normally within 3 business days. Cases needing further checks may take longer.
- •Acted on — confirmed violations are handled per the standards below. Clearly unlawful content, or content that threatens someone's safety, is removed immediately without prior notice.
- •Recorded — outcomes are retained for dispute handling and repeat-violation checks (see the Privacy Policy).
| Severity | Action |
|---|---|
| Minor | Unsharing or removing the content, with a warning |
| Repeated | Suspension of community features |
| Severe | Sexual exploitation, content involving minors, threats to someone's safety and distribution of unlawful material lead to termination on a first offence, and are reported to the authorities |
If you believe an action was wrong, email support@calonote.com with your account details and ask for a review. We will respond with the outcome, and reverse the action immediately if it was made in error.
These Guidelines are effective as of August 7, 2026. Changes will be announced in the app at least 7 days in advance (30 days for material changes). For questions, write to support@calonote.com.
